I don't think that GameCube has very many good games, and it's definitely short on RPGs, but the new Zelda game is good, Pikmin is a lot of fun, and Metroid Prime is really fun too. Then there are the SuperMario games, which are okay if you don't mind bright colors and chasing around after stupid princesses.
You like Animal Crossing though, don't you?
Zelda would work. Is Pikmin the Pokemon game? Jamie said there was a good Pokemon game for GC. I've not played any of the Metroid games, but I do like some of the Mario games.
Fortunately, nothing is too bright on my TV - I keep the colour and brightness settings turned way down, otherwise I get migraines from looking at it. =)

Animal Crossing is fun! It gets old after you've played it for several months, and gotten all the house additions and furniture sets, but in the meantime, it's great.
Pikmin is a game about a little space traveller who gets stranded on a strange planet and these native thingies, the Pikmin, help him retrieve pieces of his ship. It's a lot of fun.
Pikmin sounds a lot like Toe Jam and Earl... and I love Toe Jam and Earl! =D

Pikmin is great fun, very addictive because it's so simple. I love Super Mario Sunshine, and I'd love Animla Crossing but it isn't getting a UK release *cries*. I think I'll save up and buy the 'Freeloader' disc which lets you play imported games, and then buy it from Amazon.com or somewhere.
Also, GCs are cute and purple, what more motivation do you need? :D
I have seen Pikmin recommended on a couple of Amazon lists, and now you and Laurie, so I will definately have to get that one!
That sucks that the Brits don't get AC. :(
I'm holding out on Animal Crossing till this fall. They are supposed to be releasing an Animal Crossings 2, new and improved!
What is the GC game that you like so much?
The new Zelda game (Windwaker) is beyond awesome. Noah and I are playing that one. We spent all last Thursday doing it in fact and managed to get pretty far. We think.
Animal Crossing is great- my favorite game, hands down. I've had it about a year. I put it away for around 6 months and picked it up again recently. In fact, I can get you even more hooked. Go to Http://animalcrossingcommunity.com and get an account. We can trade items and stuff (it's done by password, so you don't need to have any kind of network connection for your Gamecube). Also- get Anicro Desapro and design patterns. My username is Skittle if you want to see my patterns. There are all kinds of weird little easter eggs and stuff in that game and that website has all the cool guides up. I like doing 16-bit sprite-type characters for patterns. You can print them out and actually needlepoint them in at the tailorshop. I've done a pirate flag for my island, a fish-scale shirt, several megaman characters, and other assorted creations.
Pikmin is cool, but it's been more of a rental. The way it works is puzzles. Your character can't actually act directly, he can just throw these pikmin guys ata problem. Someof them can swim, some of them can throw bombs, etc, and you have to navigate through a bunch of interesting little puzzles using the right amount of pikmin.
Another great game- and a classic, although it might be a bit Arcade for you: Super Mario Sunshine. Probably my second favorite game, and I recently finished it and got to the very last bit. At least rent it. Blockbuster has this deal where you can spend 20$ and get a pass that allows you to rent any games you want for a month (2 games at a time, just keep trading them in if you want to change them out). I'd definitely try out Super Mario Sunshine. It's the most popular for a reason.
Noah and I have also been playing a load of Warioland lately (it just came out on Wednesday). That game is mad fun. We're somewhere in the fourth world right now.
Other stuff: Well hmm. I have a Gameboy Player on my Gamecube that lets me play my Gameboy carts on there- so my classic RPS (phantasy Star I, II, III) and breeding games (Monster Rancher 2) are all actually Gameboy games that I play on Gamecube.
Other games I have: Mystic Heroes, Sonic Clasic Mega Collection (Nintendo may actually be buying the Sonic character pretty soon and there are rumors of a new Nights Into Dreams game),
I set up an account at ACC (Starr of Starburg - I'm so original), though I don't understand how we can trade stuff via codes... cool if we can, though! Hopefully I will pick up some good tips there, too...
Sometime, could you please explain to me - in slow motion - what an e-reader does, and what it would do for me. Does it add actual characters to the game, or just a "card" to look at? And what's the deal with Nintendo Pinball? If I got that card, would I actually be able to play Pinball on the GameCube?
I have the GBA and the Gameboy Player; still need the cable to connect GBA and GC. I understand there's an island if I do that...? Where does the island come from?
Other games: irrelevant! Hahahahaha!!! Okay, assuming I ever stop playing AC, I probably *will* get Zelda and Mario Sunshine. Oh, and have you seen Phantasy Star Online? I LOVED PS4, but wasn't too crazy about 1-3... looks like they've had quite an update, though. The Sonic collection looks cool; I will probably get it even though I still have those games for Sega.
Speaking of GB breeding games, do you play Dragon Warrior Monsters? I really like it too.
Okay- E-Reader. Plugs into the Gameboy. You can actually get a bunch of 8-bit NES games in card form and swipe the cards (it takes 5 cards usually) to put the game onto the Gameboy.
How it works with Animal Crossing: Okay- the Animal Crossing cards can be swiped and they'll give you random stuff. However, you don't need the E-reader for that. If you have the card, it has a code on the back, and you can write a mail, put the code in, and get something that way.
The 8-bit games are also already in Animal-Crossing, you just have to find/unlock them. Once you do, Yes- you can actually play the 8-bit game in Animal Crossing on your Gamecube. I'll hook you up with NES Pinball and Tennis anyhow. At the end of every month Nook has a raffle and he usually has an NES game as one of the prizes (thats how I got Tennis). Noah found Pinball when someone in his town buried it.
Some games are really rare and untradeable (Wario's Woods, Legend of Zelda). But there's a trick to getting Wario's Woods at least.
Most of the Animal-Crossing cards don't have great prizes in them, actually. I got a cello that was pretty cool, though.
Oooh, I will have to get the AC cards, then! I saw some the other day for only a couple of dollars per pack, but I didn't get them since I didn't have the reader.
I would love to have Pinball, thanks! I don't know if I have anything you'd want yet (since you're so far ahead), but if there's anything you're looking for, let me know! I know that the towns vary a bit; I don't know if the contents (fish and insects, etc) do too.
I haven't played Wario's Woods; was that for NES, too?
