"Today, our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack in a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts. The victims were in airplanes, or in their offices; secretaries, businessmen and women, military and federal workers; moms and dads, friends and neighbors. Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror.

The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge structures collapsing, have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness, and a quiet, unyielding anger. These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed; our country is strong."

This has been a terrible horrible no-good very bad day.

I really think that I might scream or cry or go stick my head in the oven. Preferably in that very order, as it would be difficult to scream or cry after I've had my head in the gas oven.

The rod that is meant to hold our storm door open came off of the wooden frame, and as I was coming in today, the rod swung in and broke the lovely etched glass window in the front door.

I really don't need the expense and hassle of getting it replaced, apart from the fact that my seriously awesome antique door is now ruined. Dammit dammit dammit.

I think I need a drink. Or some Valium.

1. Is the name you have now the same name that's on your birth certificate?

No. Through a couple of marraiges, I have continued to use my maiden name (Ludwig), but I do use my middle name (Renee) instead of my original first name, which was dreadful. Sometimes I use Rusty's last name (Snyder), but legally my last name is still Ludwig.

2. If you could change your name (first, middle and/or last), what would it be?

See above. I may have it changed legally at some point.

3. Why were you named what you were?

My original first name was my father's mother's name. I hated the name, don't particularly like my father, and never met my paternal grandmother, so I saw no reason to keep her name.

4. Are there any names you really hate or love? What are they and why?

I prefer normal names, like Sarah or Emily. I strongly dislike "concept" names - AKA Hope, Faith, Charity. I also dislike "altered" names (T'Sean, TeWanda) - what are they, Klingons?

5. Is the analysis of your name at kabalarians.com accurate? How or how isn't it?

As Renee you are rather serious-minded, responsible, and stable. You have the gift of tact and diplomacy, and possess a charming, easy-going nature which endears you to others.

[Current Music |tv - abc - good morning america]

I had a very long and involved dream last night, in which I had killed a woman, or at least thought I had, and now I had her lifeless body in the trunk of my car, whilst I tried to think of the best way to dispose of it. I was concerned that the police might find the body and trace it back to me. Rusty was concerned that keeping a corpse in the trunk would make the car stink.

Anyway, I finally decided that it would be best to cut off her head, and either bury the body in the mountains, or throw it in the water by the dam, where the catfish would soon make short work of it. My logic was, the body might be found, but it would be harder to ID just a body, and there wouldn't be a lot of forensics to trace back to me, as she died without a struggle.

Her head, I planned to boil until it was just a skull. Then I would throw the skull in a box of rat photo props, which already contains another [fake] skull, plastic cauldrons, etcetera. If the cops would happen to search my home, I would tell them that I bought the skull on Ebay.

Actually, that really wasn't such a brilliant plan, as I'm sure that they'd search my hard drive for records of the sale, and even subpoena Ebay, since presumably the seller would be the real killer. Maybe saying that I'd bought a box of leftover Halloween stuff at a yard sale would be a better plan. A yard sale that I couldn't remember the location of, obviously.

I guess I'd better not accidentally kill anyone until I get these details worked out...

So! I bought a head of raw broccoli and cooked it myself! I'm very excited about this, because now I can eat all the broccoli tops I want, and no yucky stems to pick out! Of course, I cooked the stems separately, for the rats. Fortunately they're not quite as picky as I am...

I adore Rachael Ray. Have you seen Good Eats yet? I have a massive nerdy crush on Alton Brown.

Rachael Ray ROCKS! That's my kind of cook... for the attention span impaired.

I've not yet seen Alton, but as I seem to be weirdly fixated on the Food Network now, I'm sure he'll come up.

Alton RULES.

I got to meet him last week. *fangirl squee*

He's funny, he's a huge geek, he has awesome books and awesome recipes and an awesome TV show.

PS - I do not like this Barefoot Contessa person.

Oooh, Alton seems to cook a lot of fish. I like him already!

Alton is great, because he'll take a simple recipe and go through what each ingredient in it does to the food, and show how a change in ingredients makes a different recipe. I think it really helps with understanding how cooking works.

For example, he'll make cookies, and put more butter in one, more leavening agent in another, etc, and come out with cakier cookies or flatter crispier cookies depending.

Plus, he's cool and funny and wacky. You can't go wrong with Alton.

Wednesdays at 9 PM, I think. I could be wrong.

I find Rachael annoying, but she always makes such tasty food. Everything of hers I've made has been wonderful.

It looked good, and so quick! I like quick food.

Hello there! I've got a question, seeing as you're the craftwizard of my friend's list :D Have you ever used those inkjet printer t-shirt transfer kits? And if so were the results any good? Thanks in advance, hope the boredom has passed!

I only used them once, but they worked pretty well after I got the hang of them! Here is some handy info on brands, techniques, and helpful tips. =)

Rusty came home in a mood. I'd already spent the day trying to potty-train an uncooperative toddler, and was in no mood for his mood. I really wish I had some Valium.

[Current Music |tv - some retarded squid movie]

I did nothing, really, for Rosh Hashannah. It's because I suck. But I feel really guilty about it.

This morning I worked on Susan's website. I would work on my own website, but my domain expired and the notice was sent to my old AOL account, which I never check. I'm working on getting my domain back now through Dreamhost instead of stupid E-nameco. Bah, what a pain.

Today we went to Walmart to get Rusty new work jeans. Needless to say, that was thrilling. I also got some cookie cutters, a can of spray-on adhesive, and some little toggle clasps. After that, we stopped at Lowe's, where I bought a glass cutter, and then we stopped at a yard sale, where I bought three tiny coloured bottles and a really nice jade plant.

Later, I went to Kmart, where I bought three mini-size cans of spray paint (purple, green, and chrome). I also got a larger pot for Edgar, my bathroom philodendron (actually I think he's a pothos, but close enough), who very much likes my humid bathroom, and is growing to absurd proportions. And then I came home and re-potted Edgar and the jade plant. Wheee.

I should go make some bracelets, or something.

Your meme, should you choose to accept it, is to rank the following bands in order, from COULDN'T LIVE WITHOUT to COULDN'T CARE LESS. To add value to this process, you must also add one band to the list, and remove one band from the list, before passing the meme on (including these instructions).

David Bowie
Pink Floyd
The Cure
Nirvana
Bob Dylan
Johnny Cash
REM
The Doors
Sex Pistols
The Sisters of Mercy
Duran Duran
