A tidbit you may not know about me |

I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Media Arts (concentration in film). I am doing nothing with it, mainly due to fear of complete poverty.

You know, I know a couple of people on my friends list with really nice degrees who are doing nothing with them... makes me feel better about not going to college!

*ponders what to say* ... I hate spinach *laughs* Actually I really like spinach ... and cheez-its with green tabasco ... but umm. yeah.
Ok, ok, seriously ummmm *really ponders what to say* A Kitsune friend of mine once said to me "Rain, you are either too much fun or not enough" I think he was slightly disgusted with me at the time, but I found it rather funny & quite fitting *grins* I do tend to be a black/white person, with very little shade of grey.
So there, now you know something about me heh
GREEN Tabasco?!? =O
I tend to be very black/white, too...

Yes, green! lol I use both red AND green on the lime flavored tortilla chips hehe
How very festive of you! lol
a clean house is a sign of a sick mind :)
I must be doing *really* well in the mind department then... because my house looks like a natural disaster struck! =D
Mine too... I'm still only about 30% unpacked. :/
I have kindof strange eating habits: I'm really picky about what qualifies as "good food", but w/i that, I'll eat almost anything...
So what DO you consider a "good food"? Peoples food habits fascinate me, probably because my own are so weird...
Well, it really depends on what food you're talking about, for example:
I like carrots, but only those little ones that've been peeled and cut.
I like tomatoes, but only fresh, and never stewed or in a sauce.
etc.
Also, a lot of foods I like in one dish, but not in another, or no tby itself, etc....
Interesting! I love the raw baby carrots, but not big or cooked (ewww) carrots, and tomatoes should never EVER be stewed. I like them in spaghetti sauce, though.

Well since today is "random kind confession" day... |
|
I think you're so much more crafty than I am. I try to be crafty and most of the time it just never works out right. *ummmm* Let's see, what else... I'm a juinor in college and I'm majoring in English. I speak a very li'l bit of Chinese, a bit of French, I'm addicted to Must See TV (but I think you already know that), my birthday's in May. I'm 20 and I feel old :P I think Hallmark has over-commercialized all the freaking holidays. After I graduate from college I want to go to cooking school so I can be a pastry chef. I own a sewing machine and I'm going to the fabric store tomorrow and I'm going to try to make a skirt without a pattern. Wish me luck :D
And I'm not so crazy about spinach but I *heart* steamed asparagus :D

Neat! I can't sew for shit, so you're ahead of me there. Rusty loves asparagus, but I don't... I *heart* broccoli. :)

Re: Well since today is "random kind confession" day... |

I only like broccoli when it's raw and the only thing I've sewed thus far is a handful of pillowcases. Altho' I will eat cooked broccoli but only if it's not limp and in Chinese food :P

I love to try new things, but can't bear to fail, so unless I'm instantly good at something, I find myself becoming very discouraged and quitting.
Of course, that makes perfect sense to ME. :)

I thought, "Maybe I should share a less obvious and less 'we-have-in-common' piece of information," but then I outvoted myself. :D
Hrmmm...I broke my wrist once on my bicycle. It's the only bone I've ever broken. Interesting, I know. ;P
I've never broken any of my bones. I twisted my ankle once but that's about it.
Me either, which is odd, considering that I'm like the most uncoordinated person on the planet. =)
lessee.. I work in a pet store, love animals(duh ^^) and know a lot of Japanese, I took it for 3 years, it was my minor when I graduated from college last year. I love anime and Lunar. =D
You work in a petstore? Gah, I could never do that... I'd end up with a zoo! =)
Yeah, it can be pretty tough sometimes to keep self-control. ;)

I'm addicted to dried cranberries. I love pigeons. My left thumb is an inch shorter than my right thumb, but both are double jointed. :)

Awww, I love pigeons too! My neighbour has a pair that roosts in her attic window, and I always talk to them as I'm coming up my walk. A friend of mine used to raise them, and says they're really smart. If I ever had less pets, I think I would keep pigeons.

Re: I'll give you three... |

Awww, that's cool. I became fascinated with pigeons when I started attending PSU. Since I had no friends, I would go outside on my long breaks between classes, and watch pigeons. There was a mother pigeon with a nest and eggs a couple of years ago--I'd go sit on the balcony right next to it every day, and she didn't care. If I brought food out, she would eat crumbs. I was excited to see the baby birds. Then one day I went out at my usual time, and someone had stomped all over the nest and broken the eggs. The mama bird was gone. I sat down and cried. :( I can't even imagine what would make someone do that.

I am a complete and total homebody. I'd rather sit at home than go to a party or out to a club any day.
I hear ya, sister. We were invited to a New Years party, and I was all like, "but I'd have to go OUT!" :\

my real name is Emily and I'm a psychology student way off in Ontario, Canada. I have two little ratties, I love to crochet, knit, and do crafty things. I can bend my thumbs back and tuck them behind my knuckles and it grosses people out.
If I ever had another daughter, her name would be Emily; it's such a pretty, classic name. Out of curiousity, what is your middle name? I can't think of a good middle name for my hypothetical daughter Emily, except Elizabeth, which is already my real daughter (Sarah's) middle name.
Psychology is fascinating; what do you plan to do with it?
The thumb thing is just gross. ;)

My middle name is Erica... (Emily Erica Fox)
(weird funny thing, my mom's name is Elizabeth, and I have a cousin named Sarah, heh)
the Psych I plan to take all the way to a ph.d, and be a psychologist. I'd like to specialize in either forensics or some kind of behavioural therapy... I'm not sure yet. (I'm only in the 2nd year of my undergrad! lol)
the thumb thing is my only party trick, so I'm sticking with it. ;)
Oooh! Oooh! I vote for forensics!
(Yeah, I know, I don't get a vote, but that's what *I* would want to do...)

Yes, I thought forensics would be really interesting. They seem to make the big bucks too. lol
I'm just stealing this from my user info, but if you haven't read it before, it's pretty comprehensive (moreso than I'd have the energy to type here! :-)
I'm kind of trapped in that time between college and adulthood, what comedian Aaron Karo calls the Whatever Years. I make more money than my mother but half the time have none. I'll go to a concert on a Wednesday and then stay home alone on a Saturday night.
I'm female. I'm left-handed. I'm a natural (dirty) blond. I like AP Style. I was raised in New York State and live in Arlington, Virginia. I like animals, love my NetFlix, and hate the fact that I often wake up early on the weekends now. I recently began a six-month Introduction to Judaism class and a 10-week Hebrew class and am considering conversion.
I work as a contracted editor for America Online's Digital City. I assign reviews among about 10 freelance writers and a few photographers for nightlife, concerts and venues, bars, clubs -- so basically my job is all about fun. I also program nightlife pages. I do this for Atlanta, Raleigh and Charlotte. I used to be the Tampa Bay editor and before that, I was the copy editor. And this is all in six months! You can see what I do at www.digitalcity.com.
I share a one-bedroom apartment in Arlington, VA, with an opinionated, not-quite-four-pound rabbit, Zoe. I'm about six miles from Washington, DC, and live about as far away from DC but still be in Arlington as possible. I love DC and I hope that when I no longer work in Hicksville, VA that I can once again be crammed into the city.
So who or what am I? I am a happy, creative, silly, sexy, towheaded, slope-nosed, gap-toothed, long-toed, pink-nippled, fun-jobbed, bunny-owning, Mac-using, Sims-playing, automatic-driving, gel-pen-using, contacts-wearing, Tori-Amos-listening, cohene-dating, passionate and compassionate human being.
That is one big bunny! =D
Actually, he's a pretty small bunny. :)

I used to hide tons of sunflower seeds in my child therapist's couch. I had sucked off all of the salt and pushed them between the cushions. He was very type A, and so I can imagine what his reaction was.
LOL! I like to suck the salt off of them, but I usually DO show some decorum and throw them in the trash, not someone else's couch! =D

He had to be ticked when he found all the seeds...

I am a cat person now, but I grew up with dogs and briefly had a pet rabbit before the cats.
Interesting... most people I know were always one of the other. I've always been a cat person, even though I've owned several dogs.
Let's see.... adele_t got the afghan thing & ladyvivien got the Gates McFadden thing, quecojones got the copperbelly snake thing, faile_02 got the first play thing, mosca got the ER-named ratties thing, misssimm got the Manhattan Transfer thing, & geonncannon got the dead seal thing....
For you, I'll admit to wearing dark teal legwarmers in high school...when they'd already gone out of style.
Wow. That's quite a confession! =) Actually, I would still wear legwarmers, around the house at least, if they were purple.
PS - Re: Gates McFadden: I admire your restraint.
*chuckles* If I could, I'd still wear them around the house as well. In fact, my roommie/best bud shatterpath has a pair of old socks that she turned into makeshift legwarmers. They work wonders for her....

WEll.. you know the most important thing about me, which is that I'm terrified of clowns *laughs* But I can fill you in on stuff I haven't had time to write about lately! I'm happily absorbed in my Master's Degree, and seem to be doing well. I've become Miss Popularity... which is weird, and I'm still getting thinner although I can't seem to tell by looking! (Yes, I know I'm weird!) Erm.. ah yes apparently I've become a 'girly-girl' and my fellow lesbanians tease me frequently about it, the monsters! Oh and *fingers crossed* I should be leaving home in the New Year, whoopee!
