Geez I suck at updating anymore. Not much as been going on here... watched the Republican National Convention, that's always a hoot. My thoughts on some of the speakers:
* Zel Miller: The cheese has clearly slid off this guy's cracker. Craaazy. He's the kind of guy, when they find 47 dismembered women in his cellar, people will wonder why we never saw that coming. Also, he said that Kerry was a great guy and then he said he only said that because they told him to say it. Now he says that Bush is a great guy. Apparently, he will say anything. Freak.
* Dick Cheney: Boooring. Seriously, even the GOP groupies were having a hard time cheering.
* Arnold Shwartzenegger: This guy needs to decide if he wants to be an actor or a politician. Really, the Terminator and girlie-man references are getting seriously cheesey.
* The Bush Twins: If you want to make a point about how un-hip your grandmother is, would it not be more effective to reference a TV show that was still on the air? And also, please don't talk about sex and your grandmother in the same sentance, it's just gross.
* Rudy Guiliani: I used to respect this man, I really did. But when he said that he and the NYC police commisioner were standing there in the rubble on September 11, and he said "Thank G-d George Bush is our president", I lost that respect. Really, you expect us to believe that in the wake of this horrific tragedy, your thoughts were political? That you had the where-with-all to be considering the potential leadership of a president who had been in office for less than a year, and despite that he'd done basically nothing so far, you decided - in that split second - that he would do a fine job of guiding our country through this crisis. Umm, yeah. Sure you did.
Of course, I am convinced that the conventions are a complete waste of time. I think that most people have decided by the primaries who they're going to vote for in the general election, so now it's just a matter of waiting to see if one of the candidates royally screws up.
